About Image

Heather is based in Cleveleys on the northwest coast of England. Heather is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose creative practice spans fine art, product design, portraiture, and teaching. She studied fine art at Lancaster University, where she developed a rigorous understanding of form, composition, and visual communication. This academic foundation, combined with a lifelong passion for art, design and aesthetics, has informed a career that moves fluidly between disciplines and continues to evolve.

Drawing has been central to Heather's practice since childhood, and over time she has developed two distinct artistic styles: expressive ink and colour works that push towards the abstract, and finely observed realism-based portraiture. Currently pursuing a BA (Hons), Heather is deepening her engagement with sculptural and installation art, a discipline she approaches with the same precision and sensitivity that defines her two-dimensional work. Working primarily in wire and acrylic, she creates animals and other forms that investigate the relationship between structure and space, and the dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Her sculptures seek to capture not merely the appearance of a subject, but it's energy, movement and essence.

Artist Statement

Drawing has been at the heart of my practice for as long as I can remember, from expressive ink and colour work that moves towards the abstract, to closely observed portraiture. Based in Cleveleys on the northwest coast of England, my work spans fine art, product design and teaching.

In recent years, sculpture has become an increasingly significant part of my practice. Working in wire and acrylic, I create animals and other forms, exploring the way a shape can hold space, catch light, and suggest movement. I approach this work with the same care and attention I bring to my drawing, concerned less with surface appearance than with capturing the energy, feeling and essence of a subject.
